LITERATURE/Literary terms:  Be prepared to identify and discuss these elements in a reading selection or selections.

         Setting- what is the setting and how does the setting affects the plot?

         Characterization- know the ‘steal’ method and be able to describe a character based on the method of steal.

      Types of character:  know the difference between static, dynamic, flat, and round characters and be able to identify them in a reading piece.

        Be able to make inferences in a reading selection.

        Be able to define tone, mood, symbols and satire and identify in a reading selection.

        Be able to identify conflict in a reading selection and identify what type of conflict it is.

        Be able to identify all parts of the plot triangle-intro-exposition, rising actions, climax, falling action and conclusion

        Be able to identify the point of view of a reading selection and be able to provide support as to why it is that point of view.

 1st, 3rd person limited and omniscient

         Be able to define and identify irony, irony of the situation, verbal irony, and dramatic irony.

 

 

 

WRITING: 

         What are the types of writing? 

         Be prepared to write a 5 paragraph essay about Chains.  This will be open notes.
