Assessment

Students will work individually and in groups on different projects throughout the year.  Performance assessments will be taken on certain projects, while graded assessments will be taken from other projects.  Quizzes will occur on most Fridays and assess the information from recent activities.  Tests will be given that outline the chapters in the textbook (not in order) and larger formal assessments will be given between units.

The textbook is rarely used in a formal manner.  Activities and projects will parallel the book topics, but little is taken directly from the book.

Homework

Homework will rarely be given.  Work that needs to be completed at home will be completion of labs or projects from that day.  Homework will be posted daily on my website.

Parent Communication

You can call or email with any concerns or questions.  If you wish to meet with me, we can arrange a time to sit down and discuss the issues.  I am here for the students and to assist them through this year of science and make it a fun and positive experience.
