Course Credit: 1 credit, 5 periods/week, full year, weighted grade.
Description:
The course follows Advanced Algebra II and prepares a student for calculus. The course content includes: logic in deductive systems, mathematical induction as related to the sequences and series, functions, complex numbers, solving polynomial functions, exponential functions, trigonometry and analytic geometry, vectors, circular functions, inverses of circular functions, polar equations, and parametric equations. Graphing is stressed.
This course is designed for students with a high mathematics aptitude and interest. The high level of effort and achievement expected demands that the student prepare daily for class and should plan to spend a minimum average of one hour on homework and test preparation each day.
Course Prerequisite: Successful completion of Honors Algebra II with a "B" average of better and teacher recommendation.
Fee: None. A graphing calculator is required and will be available if needed.
