Spring sports athletes are reminded to return participation packets and when necessary, physical forms, to Mr. Nerl before the first day of practice.  These forms are available under athletics, and then forms, from your head coach, or from the front office at the high school.

 

Congratulations to the JH Wrestling team on winning the JH's first CHL Championship last weekend at Indian Hill.  We had 7 champions Riley Henderson, James Allen, Braden Stautberg, Alex Picard, Isiah Garrett, David Quiambao and Cody Mackey.  Two second places Zach Telgkamp and Carter Kemper: one third Dan Stacy and two fourth's Sam Long and Dalton Osgood!! 

 

The Lady Warriors basketball continues to roll through the sectional tournament, downing Reading first and then Clark Montessori to advance to the Sectional Finals Thursday against Georgetown High School.  Tickets are on sale in the school office for $5.  $7 at the game.  Check the front office for information on a spirit bus. http://www.swdab.org/Girls%20Basketball/gbb_Fairfield_d3.htm

 

The boys basketball teams wrap up the regular season Tuesday with a JV/Varsity pairing against CHCA at home on Tuesday.  Game times are 6 and 7:30. The Varsity boys will open Tournament play against Williamsburg at Western Brown High School on Friday, February 26th at 9pm.  Tickets are available at the high school for $5, and the school received a 50% return on all presale tickets.  Tickets at the game are $7

 

Congratulations to junior Taylor Henderson on placing first in the Sectional Tournament at Clinton Massie this past weekend.  Good luck in the Districts!

 

The Varsity Swimmers will place 15 swimmers and 1 diver in the state meet in Canton this week.  The girls swim team finished second at districts, 1/2 point behind the first place team.  The boys 200 free relay and  400 free relay qualified for State, as well as Mackenzie Shelley in the 100 free, Bridget Mahorney in the 200 free, the 200 free relay, 400 free relay, and Paige Shannon in diving.  Good luck in Canton!!

 

Warrior dads and fans are reminded to make your reservations TODAY for the 5th Annual Warrior Sports Stag on March 9th at the 20th Century in Oakley.  Cincinnati Reds and Fox Sports announcer Thom Brennamann will be this year's featured speaker with all the good food, raffles, and renewed friendships that have come to be a part of this annual event.  Tables and tickets are available now.  Contact AD Tom Nerl at 272-7600 for more information.

 

Congratulations to MHS health teacher and former coach Terri Thomas on being inducted into the Mt. Notre Dame High School's Athletic Hall of Fame.  Ceremonies will be February 11th. Congratulations, Terri.

Warrior Head Football Coach Tom Crosby will be inducted into the Ohio High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame in the spring of 2010.  Coach Crosby collected his 200th win as a head coach in the 10th game of the season last year.  His head coaching career includes a stop at Purcell High School before his 31 years at MHS.  Congratulations, Coach!

Warrior fans are reminded that they are guests of the athletes performing at the games.  The athletes train and play for the love of the sport and for pride of representing their schools.  Remember when you are at the game to respect their efforts and their time invested in the long hours of practice and training, to respect the coaches for their time and dedication to the athletes, and to the officials for their help in conducting the game fairly.  In short, remember to Respect the Game
