Information and Frequently Asked Questions
Helpful Hints
Please read the
signs. Most questions and problems arise from drivers simply not reading a
sign. MPC signs are carefully worded and placed to make them as easy to
follow as possible.
Please be
mindful of no parking areas and signs. Most signs at the high school are
fire lanes and are there to protect the safety of those inside the building.
Parking illegally will almost always result in a ticket and a fine.
Please respect
MPC equipment. DO NOT take cones to reserve your own spot. Please follow the
traffic patterns indicated and do not drive around (or over) cones.
Maintaining safety for vehicles and pedestrians is our priority.
Understand that Parking Crew employees are there to help you, not get in your way. We are always willing to accommodate your needs as best we can but must also keep the interests of everyone else attending the event in mind.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What if I need to drop off or pick up at an event?
Dropping off and picking up is fine. We encourage that you do that at either the stadium entrance or one of the bus turnarounds. When approaching the checkpoint please stay straight and tell one of us that you are dropping off and we will let you through. Please do not pull across traffic and decide to turn around or drop off in the middle of the road. Dropping of at field level is strictly prohibited during events.
2. Why are there so many reserved spots at large events?
For larger events we reserve 10-15 spaces in the Stadium Lot for school officials and extra handicapped parking. There are only 3 Handicapped spaces in the lot and typically 10 or more people with passes attend large events.
3. What if I'm only staying a few minutes or running something inside?
Typically, a few of the reserved spaces are available for people who need to park for 15 minutes or less to drop something off or run inside.
4. I'm a booster but the lot is always full when I get there. Why can't you save me a spot?
The stadium lot is only reserved for boosters for Mariemont home football games. There are also far more boosters than spaces in the lot. Mathematically alone, there is no way we can reserve a spot for every booster. The earlier you arrive the better parking you can usually find. (Note: you must present your booster parking pass, not just a booster pass to park in the lot. Thus only one vehicle per booster family can take advantage of the reserved parking).
5. Can I borrow some cones?
Yes, MPC cones are available to be borrowed as long as they are not currently needed for an event. Most commonly we allow students to borrow cones to practice maneuverability.
6. Can the Parking Crew be hired to work special events?
We are available to work any events being held at a Mariemont School District facility and certain community events. Click on the Contact Us link for more info or to ask a question
