Traffic and Parking Regulations

The Parking Crew is responsible for making sure that traffic and parking laws are enforced on the MHS campus. This is made possible through close cooperation with the Mariemont Police Department. Officers will make at least one patrol of the high school during any event. Illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed or towed by officers. Any suspicious or illegal activity (such as the presence of weapons, drugs or alcohol) will also be reported. The police can be called on the non-emergency number (271-4089) and will respond quickly. All employees are encouraged to develop friendly working relationships with officers.

Below are the most important laws that maintain a safe traffic environment:

Fire Lanes:

These are areas where it is illegal to park at any time under any circumstance. Fire Lanes are where emergency vehicles will access the building or spectators in the case of a fire or medical emergency. Cars will be ticketed or towed, the standard fine is $38.00

There are 5 marked fire lanes on the MHS campus: the driveway, the new turnaround, the old turnaround, outside the industrial arts room, and at field level.

Handicapped spaces:

There are 8 marked handicapped spaces at MHS. Only State issued Handicapped passes are valid. Illegal parking or invalid passes will result in a ticket with a standard fine of $45.00.

Speed:

The speed limit at MHS is 15 MPH.

Note: Students are also subject to detentions, Friday schools or the suspension of driving privileges at MHS if they park illegally.
