Mariemont Parking Crew Employment Information
The MPC Mission- "Always Prepared, Always Ready"
The Parking Crew is dedicated to providing consistent, professional and efficient traffic control and parking operations at each and every event we work. As such, our motto is two-fold. We are always prepared to work at any event, at any time, responding to the specific needs of the event while providing the same consistent level of service. Moreover, we are always ready to handle the challenges that each event and each shift puts in our way. Our intensive focus on training, organization and consistency makes this goal a reality.
MPC works two seasons a year, covering most athletic events at Mariemont High School. The Fall season, running from August 15th to November 15th, includes football and soccer and is typically the busiest time of the year. The Spring season, running from March 15th to June 15th, covers Lacrosse games and Track meets. We are also frequently contracted to work several special events that come up throughout the year, including winter and summer events, sometimes on very short notice.
MPC employees are hired per season and must meet several requirements to maintain their employment. All employees must fill out an employment contract in order to get paid for each season. The Parking Crew prides itself on being "always prepared and always ready" to provide the very best parking coordination for any event at any time.
General Requirements
Employees must be reliable and hardworking
Must demonstrate an understanding of the responsibilities and expectations connected with employment.
Must be able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and work in undesirable conditions on short notice.
Must be able to handle several different challenges at once while maintaining a calm and level-headed attitude.
All employees must attend a pre-season meeting and training session before each season they work.
Consistent with our standard of professionalism, all employees must abide by the MPC dress code at all times:
A 3-strike rule applies to all
employees meaning that if you are more than 10 minutes late to 3 events in any season your contract
will be
automatically terminated for the remainder of the season.
If you fail to show up for any event without first notifying the Head or Assistant Parking Supervisor you will be automatically terminated for the remainder of the season.
MPC prides itself on providing consistent, professional service to the community. As a member of the Crew you are expected to uphold and maintain its integrity. Employees who do not display professional attitudes and exhibit poor work performance may have their contracts terminated at any time. Goofing off, failing to follow or understand procedure and excessive socializing on the job are examples.
Benefits of Employment
Employees are paid $8.00 an hour and receive one pay check for all accumulated hours at the end of each season.
Free admission to the events you work
Free food at the events you work.
Scheduling is based on experience. The more seasons you work the more hours you will be scheduled.
Scheduling is also flexible to accommodate student-athletes and others with busy schedules.
The typical shift for an event is 2-3 hours. For larger events that is likely to increase. Assistant Parking Supervisors usually work between 3-6 hours per event.
Vehicle Policy
The Parking Crew has several vehicles at its disposal including 1 golf cart and 2 Gators. The golf cart is MPC’s primary vehicle but its use is restricted to senior employees. During a normal event, one Gator is reserved for the trainer, the other is available to MPC. Only staff supervisors (non-students) may drive a Gator.
