| The students' Phys. Ed. grade will
be determined using the following criteria:
1. Participation - each student is
expected to participate in all activities, wearing the school issued
uniform and proper shoes. Each student is allowed one
"dress-cut" per quarter, which allows the student to choose
not to dress and use that class time as a study hall. Each time
the student does not dress beyond the allowed "dress-cut",
their grade will drop one letter.
2. Effort - the students
performance in class is evaluated primarily on effort. We
understand that not all students are equal in physical abilities, so to
grade based on ability alone would not be fair. Our goal is for
every student to understand and respect the value in physical education
and fitness, and to show the effort required to achieve that
goal.
3. Fitness Testing - the students
will be tested in the areas of flexibility, agility, cardiovascular
endurance, speed, and upper and lower body strength. We are
looking for improvement in those areas, and their efforts (as explained
above) should be reflected in those test results. |
