how do we get two identical cells from one?
the process has to make sure that both cells get all the genetic
instructions--that is, they get duplicate copies of the DNA.
since DNA is a very long molecule-six feet of DNA is packed
into every nucleus-there has to be a "fool-proof" mechanism
for making sure that every cell gets all the DNA.
First, we need to know more about chromatin and
chromosomes, and then we need to learn about the
mechanism.
