Certamen at Summit is On...Bus Leaves at 8:30
The 2007 OJCL State Convention Report
Back from Columbus now, all the Mariemont OJCLers are recuperating from all the long hours of Latin academic tests, spirit competitions, General Assemblies, OJCL Officer farewell speeches and throwing cornhole with the Xavier boys. It was a good convention, highlighted by the 5th place Level One Certamen finish, multiple firsts and seconds in the graphic art competitions, and another Excellent in club banner. The over all point winner for the team was freshman McKenzie Miller. We had our first Sight Latin Reading entries this year with Libby Peters taking a second place. Blair Sackett again won a first place for her outstanding Charcoal of Cato the Elder and Laura Murray won a first in the Traditional Pencil Sketch category. Our highest finishes in the state-wide academic competitions were Jessica Elliott's 5th in Roman History and McKenzie Miller's 8th in Latin Derivatives.
