Summer
Opportunities
We strongly encourage college bound
students to have an enrichment, academic, or service experience in the summers
between their 10th and 11th grade, and again between their 11th and 12th grade.
An extensive list is updated almost daily on
PrepHQ
Why plan a summer enrichment experience?
-
If you're a top-ranked student, such
experiences will give you additional experiences to include on your college
application, as well as give you the personal challenge you'll experience at
a selective college.
-
If you a great student, but not
top-ranked, summer experiences might make you more competitive against those
with higher grades and scores, simply because you've challenged yourself and
taken some initiative.
-
If you simply like new
experiences, summer is the time to try new things. Volunteer, try
something personally risky, or maybe just have fun!
How does one find summer opportunities?
-
Look at
PrepHQ for the most current, most
updated offerings, posted as they arrive in the Guidance Office. You
