College reps who visit MHS

Check this space often for information about the college planning process and for  updates from the Mariemont High School Counseling Office.

   SENIORS:

Need community service hours?  Check out www.ugive.org for ideas and opportunities.  Mariemont HS is registered with this clearinghouse of events and needs in our region.

A list of all the college admission representatives who have asked to visit MHS in 2008 are included in PrepHQ, on the "Welcome Page.  If you need help logging on to PrepHQ, please stop by the MHS Counseling Office.  The list is also posted outside Room 18 (Mr. Wolfford's classroom).  www.prephq.com

How do students leave class to meet with a college rep?  After getting permission from the teacher whose class will be missed, students should go to the MHS Counseling office and await further instructions.  Meetings with college reps are generally held in C-20, but not always.  If a teacher denies permission, students may tell Ms. Elfers, who will notify the college rep of the student's interest.  Likely the admission representative will contact the student at a later time.

How do students get an excused absence to make a college campus visit?  We ask that parents email, call, or send in a written note to Ms. Elfers, who will keep track of the number of days used (3 days are permitted during the year) and notify the attendance desk.  We ask for several days' advance notice, please.  jelfers@mariemontschools.org  513-272-7618.

How do I register to take an ACT and/or SAT?  Deadlines are listed on the sites.  Links to both sites are found under "Test Information" on the vertical bar.
