This information is general and pertains to all of my classes!  If you have questions about a particular class please call me at the High School at 272-7600 to leave a message for me.

Grading and Procedures

GRADE:  Each semester your grade will be determined by 40% of your 1st quarter average, 40% of your 2nd average and 20% of your exam!

Class Average:  This is determined by the following - 1) Tests , usually 100 points each.  2) Quizzes, usually 10 - 50 points.  3)  Homework, 5 points if complete and, 4) board points - equal to a 100 point test.  Board points will be explained in class.

Tests:  Chapter tests will cover all the material in a chapter.  They will also be cumulative during each quarter in the term.  Partial credit may be earned and will be explained in class. There will be one QUALITY TEST a quarter.  This is a test where you will get an "A" or a "Need more time".  If you don't get an "A" and need more time you can redo the test after school until you get an "A" or the end of the semester.

Quizzes:  Frequent and usually not announced.  They will cover recent material.

Homework:  We will have homework each day.  It is important that you do quality work in order to be successful in this class.

1)  Homework is to be neat and each problem complete so that other people can understand it.

2)  Credit will be given for the homework depending on how much is finished.  If less than half is finished then there will be no credit.

3)  For board points assignments are not accepted late.  If you are in the building any part of the school day, but miss this class, have someone put the homework in my mailbox by 3:15

4)  It is your job to get any missed assignments.

0 points if the problem is wrong

1 point if the problem is mostly correct

2 points if the problem is all correct

                  ****Plus****

       0-2 points for the explanations

Make-up Policy

One Day Absent

If you are out for only 1 day, any homework collected the day you were out is due the day you return.  It is your responsibility to check with someone to see if any should be turned in.  Any tests or quizzes on the day you missed or on the day you return must be taken on the day you return.  Again, it is your responsibility to check to see what was missed and needs to be made up.

More Than One Day Absent

If you miss more than one day anything collected on the first day you were out is due when you return.  All other work (homework, quizzes, tests) must be completed in the same number of days as you were out.  You can come talk to me if there are problems in doing this but you must do so before the assignment, quiz, etc. is due.
