Sponsored Curriculum Classes
The following are
only available to Cisco Networking Academies
CATC-SC
Class Information
- Training done as a five-day on-site class
- Local Academies will be trained in June, July, and August
- Local Academies can sign up for classes on June 1st
- Student curriculum contains one 70-hour block called a semester
- All instructors must complete CCNA semester 1 or the new 3 day (24 hour) orientation before teaching CCNA, CCNP or Sponsored Curriculum courses.
- If an instructor is new to the Academy program, then they will need to complete a separate orientation course. All new instructors will be required to complete this course before teaching any courses.
Procedures
- As of June 1, 2001, Sponsored Curriculum will reside on the CCNA site of CNAMS
- Local Academies will be able to designate themselves as a Local Academy offering Sponsored Curriculum (Local-SC), register for instructor training, download curriculum, and utilize most of the other CNAMS functionality associated with the CCNA program.
- Within the different 'GO' buttons, currently listed on CCNA, will be the information and tools needed to offer Sponsored Curriculum.
- Approximately June 1, 2001 the CCNA Main Contact will see a section on their "Update Academy Information" page within Academy Maintenance/View My Academy Information on CNAMS which reads: 'Make this Academy a Local-SC'. By clicking the check box in this section, the main contact designates your Academy as a Local-SC.
- Instructors will be able to register for training by clicking on the "Personal Account" 'GO' button and choosing "Register to Receive Sponsored Curriculum Training".
- Fundamentals of UNIX®, Fundamentals of Web Design and the new Orientation training courses currently offered will be available on the Class List page.
- This new Orientation is a required course for new instructors who have not already successfully completed Semester One (which includes an orientation to the Academy) of the CCNA curriculum.
