Weekly Practice Schedule

I will handout a schedule to each boy at the meeting Monday morning with a complete schedule for the week which will include more details and instructions on what to bring, where and when to arrive, etc. I will state here now though that the tryouts have traditionally only been three or four days. I wanted to get an extra day since I will be seeing all of the players for the first time.

Monday will most likely be conditioning and off the ball training so I can better assess a fitness level for the boys and scale the rest of the drills for the week up or down accordingly. However, each participant should come fully prepared each and every day. That means having all equipment and arriving on time.

Lastly, I chose to have the tryouts during this time of day to best simulate regular practices and games during the season. It will be hot and it will be humid. The most important thing for each of you to bring is water. Also, you should be pre-hydrating during the day, not just drinking water during practices. I will provide a cooler with ice rags but cannot provide water for everyone during the practices. I will make sure enough rest is given, especially if it is too hot. However, part of dealing with the heat is getting your body conditioned to handle it as well. Be smart and stay healthy and everything will will work out swimmingly.
