Constitution & By-Laws (short version – 1/05 draft)

 

PURPOSE:     To promote the Mariemont High School and Junior

High Athletic Programs.

 

MISSION:     We are guided by the Mariemont City School Mission

and Core Values. We strive to support excellence in student

athletics, with special emphasis in four areas: Student

Participation, Sportsmanship, School Spirit and Funding.

 

MEMBERS:  Any person interested in the purpose for which the

Association is organized.

 

OFFICERS/BOARD OF DIRECTORS:    

·         Directors:   Maximum of 24 Board of Directors (family unit is one vote),

                        each serving 3 year term. Each expected to serve on at least one

                        Standing Committee or Special Committee. Past President &

Athletic Director(s) are non-voting members.

·         Officers:     President (one year term, option for second year), Vice-President,

Treasurer, Secretary may serve two years.

·         Election:     New Officers & Directors nominated at March meeting, elected

at April meeting. Terms begin at May meeting.

·         Other:

o        Special Committee may be created by the President.

o        Standing Committee Chairperson and Officer expected to submit an

annual report.

 

MEETINGS AND MANAGEMENT:

·         Meetings:          Ten (10) meetings a year, led by President.

·         Management:  Robert’s Rules of Order, quorum for voting is 12 “family units”

      (President is non-voting member, but may breaks ties),

                              Amendment of Constitution requires two-thirds of members present.
