Hello! My name is Amy Batchelor and this is my first year at Mariemont Elementary. I began my teaching experience in Dayton. I taught fifth through seventh grade and then team taught eighth grade through high school. My previous seven years have been at a elementary school in Norwood. I am very excited to be a part of the Mariemont community and school district.

I graduated from the School of Creative and Performing Arts in 1992. I was very fortunate in my high school career to perform with a musical theatre group in both Germany and France. I also had the opportunity to audition and eventually be chosen to perform with a national touring group. I performed  'in The Sound of Music' for six months traveling all over the United States and Canada. It was truly a learning experience.

I graduated college from Miami University in 1996 and then began my masters at Wright State University. I have a bachelors in music education and a masters in supervision and curriculum.

My parents live in Milford as well as my brother and his family.  I have four nephews, a set of twins and a  three year old on my side and a baby boy on my husband's side of the family. I have a wonderful husband named, Mike, and a really cute Labrador/Golden Retriever puppy named Lucy. I have recently turned thirty and am currently pregnant with our first child. We are having a baby boy and we are not sure what his name will be yet. His due date is November 13th, 2005.
