Aug. 29 Report

The first full week of the fall season is in the books, the seniors split the week at Camp Kern with the 6th graders of the District, and the Warriors and Lady Warriors march into the season.  The unseasonably cooler weather has been a blessing for us in the Cincinnati area, and our thoughts and prayers go out to those people affected by the hurricane in Texas.  The Lady Warrior soccer team, off to a 2-1 start, are ranked 5th in the Enquirer poll and open CHL play Wednesday against Finneytyown at home at 5 and 7.  After Wednesday, the soccer team is off until after Labor Day.

The 5th ranked boys soccer Warriors continue to gain experience for this young squad, and hammered out a 1-1 tie with CCD on Saturday.  The team is now 0-1-2 on the season, and begin the defense of their CHL title on Tuesday at Finneytown at 5 and 7pm.  The Warriors travel to McNicholas on Saturday to challenge the GCL Rockets at 11am and 12:45.

The Cross Country Teams, ranked 2nd in the girls and 5th in the boys,  competed in the Lakota East Invitational on Saturday as the girls finished 9th overall.  Sophomore Erin Kelly won the open race.  The Warriors have a week off before competing in the Mason Invitational on Sept 9th.  The teams will get a taste of the CHL Championship course at Taylor on Sept 13.

The football Warriors lost a devastating game to Oakwood in the opener 41-42, and will battle back against Blanchester Friday Night at 7pm.  The JV Football team will play Blanchester in Kusel Stadium Saturday at 10am.

The Lady Warrior Tennis team defeated St. Ursula and Anderson last week to run their record to 5-1.  They'll face Madeira on Tuesday in a week of light action.

The varsity golf team is slowly working out the kinks and improving their scores while picking up wins, with recent wins over CNE and McNicholas.  The Warriors challenge CHCA on Thursday and compete in the Bexley Inv on Saturday.

Make plans to attend the annual Warrior Tailgate party and Cookout on Sept 8th before the Shroder game.  This year, the cookout will be held in the stadium parking lot, just outside of the stadium entrance.

Are you a golfer, or at least enjoy a nice day on the links?  If so, be sure to register for the annual Hubbard Golf Outing to be held at the Terrace Park Country Club on October 12.
