March 6

Spring sports are now officially under way with tennis and track beginning today, and true to form, the nice, sunny weather we enjoyed late last week and over the weekend has turned in to a dreary, grey mess.  But, spring is right around the corner and with that will be the games!

Congratulations to the Lady Warriors Basketball team who concluded their season last week with a 22-4 record, their second consecutive CHL Championship, a 28 game CHL winning streak, a sectional championship and a district runner up.

Congratulations to Riley Gullino who won two matches at the District Championship after finishing 3rd in the CHL and 3rd in the sectional championships.

Coming up, we have the winter sports awards night on Monday, March 13, beginning with snacks and drinks at 6:30 in the MHS Commons.  We'll move to the gym for our larger presentation at 7pm.

Spring Sports Meet the Team Night will be Wednesday, March 15th.  We'll have pizza and refreshments at 6:30 in the MHS Commons, and at 7pm, we'll meet all the members of the Spring teams in the Gymnasium.  It's always a great night to see all of our athletes in one place at the same time.

Spring sports pictures take place after school on March 22.  Look for order forms from your athlete's coach.

Finally, spring break begins on Friday, March 24th, and the whole school pretty much shuts down for the week.  Before that happens, however, we'll have the following sports in action:

Boys Lacrosse: at Lakota east on March 20 at 6 and 8pm, and home with Fenwick on March 22 at 5:30 and 7:30.

Girls lacrosse opens the season with Mt. Notre Dame on March 21 at 5:30 and 7.

The baseball team battles new Richmond on March 20 (V-H,JV-A), and Withrow on Wednesday (V-A,JV-H) in preseason action, before beginning the season at the Ripken Complex in Myrtle beach SC.

The softball team scrimmages Purcell Marian on March 21 at Stanton Field in Terrace Park.

Thanks for your support of our athletes and coaches!  Help us to #bebetter and to Respect the Game.
