Getting Ready For Tournament Time

Usually when the tournaments start to roll around, the weather is getting colder, even though the days are getting longer.  But this year, wow!  One week it is freezing, the next week we're thinking about wearing shorts.  Which all lays havoc on keeping our athletes healthy and playing.  But is is nice looking out the window and seeing the bright sunshine.

Our swimmers opened the tournament season with the CHL Championships this past weekend.  The girls swimmers and divers took their 4th coonsecutive league title, and are the 1st Mariemont team to win 4 consecutive league titles.  A number of great swims were recorded, as the Warriors grabbed 5 relay 1st place finishes and 7 individual champions. Brooke Woellert, Ian Mikesell, and Cora Dupre had multiple individual championships.  Cora Dupre was named female swimmere of the meet and Coach Kevin Maness was Coach of the Year.  Next weekend, the swimmers head to Mason for the sectional championships.  Boys on Friday, girls on Saturday.

The Lady Warriors basketball team wraps up the regular season this week.  On Monday, we'll honor our seniors Carson Fields, Rebekah Justice, Audrey Theye, and Emma Worple as they host the Fenwick Falcons at 6 and 7:30.  On Wednesday, the Lady Warriors host the Madeira Amazoons in a battle to determine the outright championship of the league.  The Lady Warriors can capture sole possession of the crown with a win.  Game times are 6 and 7:30. The squad defeated Deer Park, Ross, Reading and Finneytown last week.

The boys basketball teams have rebounded from their loss to Wyoming to defeat Deer Park and Goshen in tough wins Friday and Saturday.  The team travels to Reading on Tuesday with the varsity and JV.  The frshmen host Taylor on Wednesday at 430, and then the JV and Varsity are home on Friday for senior night vs Finneytown.  The boys have a short turnaround before traveling to Seven Hills on Saturday at 4,530, and 7.
