Homecoming Week is always an exciting week here at 1 Warrior Way! The students have begun to assemble the floats for Friday's parade that begins at Mariemont Elementary at 5:30 on Friday and works its way to the high school around 6pm. The school days have the class competition of the themes for each day, and the excitement grows through the week. We're proud to welcome our Distinguished Alumni back to the Mariemont campus on Friday and at the game Friday night. All the things that make Mariemont such a special place are front and center this week.
The girls soccer team efeated Bexley and Reading last week, and continue to lead the CHL with 3-0-2 record with a 6:30 matchup at Finneytown for the varsity on Wednesday. The Enquirer's 4th ranked Lady Warriors will host the batavia Bulldogs on Saturtday at 10am and noon, and then host Madeira in the CHL finale next Thursday at 5 and 7pm.
The boys soccer Warriors start the week rtanked 3rd in the Enquirer poll, and hold a half game lead over Madeira in the CHL standings. After defeating Reading and Batavia last week, the Warriors host Finneytown on Tuesday for a challenging match at 5 and 7pm. Next Monday, the Warriors travel to Madeira to wrap up the CHL season at 5 and 7 against the Mustangs.
The Cross Country teams have had a long break since last week's Kings Invitational, and run iin the CHCA Invitational Tuesday at Voice of America Park. The girls are ranked 2nd in the Enquirer Coaches Poll, and the boys are ranked 3rd.
The volleyball teams will look to end the season on a high note before the sectional tournament starts, with home games this week with Deer Park on Tuesday and Reading on Thursday. Game times are 530 and 630 pm.
Senior Drew Moran will represent Mariemont in the District Tournament on Friday after qualifiying in the sectional tournament last week. As a team, Mariemont finished 6th in the tourtnament, and finish the season ranked 10th in the Enquirer poll.
The Lady Warrior Tennis teamcompetes in the sectional tournament this week. The Lady Warrtiors are the 3rd ranked team in the Enquirer's D2 poll.
The varsity football team hosts Deer Park for the homecoming game on Friday at 7pm. the 45-2 Warriors are 9th in this week's Enquirer poll, and are looking to climb in the harbin ratings. The JV Warriors travel to Deer Park on Saturday at 10am.
The junior high soccer teams travel to Sycamore JH on Tuesday with the girls at 430 and boys at 545. Both teams will then return to action next Monday at Kusel Stadium against Princeton with the girls at 5 and boys at 6:15.
The junior high volleyball team travels to Deer Park on Tuesday, and Reading on Wednesday.
