Week of May 9

Here we are in the second week of May, and we are STILL waiting for spring to arrive.  Hopefully it arrives soon to bring us some good weather for the tournaments that are soon to commence.  Speaking of tournaments, the varsity baseball team will open sectional tournament play on Tuesday against the Norwood Indians at Fairfax Field at 5pm.  This is a sectional tournament game, so an admission fee of $5 will be charged, and no passes will be accepted.  With a win, the Warriors will advance to play Reading at Reading on Thursday.  The Warriors will host Madeira on Friday I a regular season game at 4:30.

The softball Warriors open the week with a trip to Madeira on Tuesday at 4:30.

The Running Warriors of the Track and Field program hosted the McKee Kiwanis Invitational on Wednesday and Thursday last week.  The rain stopped on both days just in time for racing, and blue skies prevailed.  Both the boys and the girls teams took second place in the meet, which saw 17 teams competing.  The girls 3200 relay of Sarah Feeney, Katie Copetas, Marin Valentine, and CorrineFanta ran 2nd, Aislynn Hartman finished 2nd in the girls high jump as Joe Veeneman finished 3rd in the discus.  The girls 400 relay team of Lauren Croll, Carson Fields, Shelby Cresie, and Hartman finished 1st, and Carson Fields finished 1st in the 300 hurdles.  The 8oo relay team of Jaxie Brokamp, Hanna Tenhundfeld, Fields and Harman finished 1st and missed the record by .2 of a second. The boys 800 relay of MJ Greismer, Jeffrey Timmers, Charlie Jordan, and Ryan Fields took gold, as did Jeffrey Timmers in the 300 Hurdles and Charlie Jordan in the 800 run.  The Warriors travel to taylor on Thursday and Friday for the CHL Championships.

The tennis Warriors open sectional play this week.

The boys lacrosse Warriors host Indian Hill on Wednesday for senior night with the JV squaring off at 530 and the varsity at 7:30 pm.  The Warriors will wrap up the regular season on Saturday against Summit at 1pm at home.

The Lady Warriors Lax team wraps up the regular season at home next week with a pair of contests.  The Sycamore Aviators visit on Tuesday at 5:30 and 7pm, and Springboro visits on Thursday at 6 and 7:15.
