THE THREE SECRETS TO SUCCESS:

*Pay attention every day.

*Do assignments carefully.

*Ask questions.

Preparing for tests

Getting ready for a test starts the day after the last test!  What you do every day is at least as important as what you do a night or two before the test.  This means doing assignments carefully, paying attention every day, and asking questions when you have them.  Then the next step is the getting down to specifics that you do a few days before the test.  Here are some suggestions for that part of test preparation:

1.  If there is a study guide for the test, do it in parts over the course of several days as suggested in class.  Ask any questions you have as soon as you can.  Also, have the study guide completed the day before the test.  Again, this is so you can ask questions.  Next, practice the material by trying to write the answers without looking.  Writing the answers without looking takes much more time than "reading over" the material, but it is much more effective for putting the information into your head!

2.  If there is no study guide, make your own from the main items you were told to study for the test.  You will have to make up your own questions or use the ones on the handouts.  The key is to then practice the material by writing the answers without looking.
