A well-rounded educational experience, both inside and outside the classroom, is a tradition here at Mariemont City Schools, and Caleb’s story is just one of so many that speak to this tradition. If you have an interest, there is a club, group or extracurricular activity that can fit your passion. Caleb is involved in National Honors Society, Environmental Club, Latin Club, Campus Life Committee, Student Curriculum Committee, Book Club and the Mariemont Chamber Ensemble. Caleb is also a member of the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra and has recently played works on his cello by Wagner and Sibelius at University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music.
In the a recent meeting with the Student Curriculum Committee, which is a group formed by the superintendent, who attends each meeting with the students, they discussed the implementation of technology through online course offerings and textbooks. They are shaping the future of education within the district. Campus Life Committee focuses on the general sense of wellbeing and belonging within the high school and recently the group focused on planning Teacher Appreciation Week, which Caleb thinks is a really important week. “All of the teachers are so supportive of every student and are really focused on each student’s success. They all try to connect to each student and go out of their way to make themselves available to help us succeed and feel comfortable in school.”
As a member of the National Honors Society, Caleb is also has an academically diverse and challenging schedule. He has taken AP European History, AP US History and AP Language and Composition, along with many other courses to round out his academic career in the district.
