Mariemont City Schools Community Engagement Committees

In working towards its Destination 2026 strategic plan, the Mariemont City School District is committed to growth and improvement now and into the future. We understand the value of having many voices at the table and the insight that our community can bring to our development as a district. With our continued focus on community engagement, Mariemont City Schools is seeking community members and industry experts to be a part of several Community Engagement Committees. The district is calling on business owners/parents/community members/etc. with expertise and/or interest to join the conversation about the future of the Mariemont City School District. Below you will find a list of current Community Engagement Committees and information on potentially joining a team.

Purpose: The Superintendent’s Advisory Council meets regularly with the district superintendent and other members of the administrative team to provide objective feedback about district priorities, operations and finances. The feedback from this group is instrumental in shaping the instructional and financial vision for the Mariemont City School District.

Commitment: The Superintendent’s Advisory Council meets four times a year with additional meetings scheduled as needed. A two-year commitment to this committee is requested if selected for participation.

*New members for the Superintendent's Advisory Council are selected at the start of each school year. Applications will be kept from year to year, you need only apply once to be considered. New members will be notified as space becomes available. Space is limited and the district will make an effort to balance the committee with diverse representation and backgrounds.*

Purpose: The Technology Advisory Committee will review and assess research, strategies and tools related to the classroom implementation and student use of technology throughout the school district. This will include discussion of technology implementation as part of the Mariemont High School project as well as the one-to-one program in grades K-8.  The committee will develop recommendations to assist the school district in further developing its instructional technology philosophy and guidelines for use.

Commitment: The Technology Advisory Committee will meet once a month with additional meetings scheduled as needed. A two-year commitment to this committee is requested if selected for participation.

*You will be notified by the school district if you are selected to participate in the Technology Advisory Committee. Space is limited and the district will make an effort to balance the committee with diverse representation and backgrounds.*

Purpose: The Facility Management Task Force will assist the school district in refining and expanding its facility management and maintenance plans as part of the Mariemont High School project and long-term maintenance of all district facilities. The task force will review and assess research, strategies and tools related to facility management throughout the school district. This will include discussion of the district’s current preventative maintenance plans, upcoming needs and financial planning. The task force will develop recommendations and suggestions to assist the school district with this important work.

Commitment: The Facility Management Task Force will meet once a month with additional meetings scheduled as needed for 8-12 months.

*You will be notified by the school district if you are selected to participate in the Facility Management Task Force. Space is limited and the district will make an effort to balance the committee with diverse representation and backgrounds.*

Purpose: The Community Finance Committee will review and discuss school district finances. This will include discussion of district revenue streams, expenditures and financial forecasting. The committee will develop an understanding of school funding in the state of Ohio and make recommendations to assist the school district in its long-term financial planning.

Commitment: The Community Finance Committee will meet quarterly with additional meetings scheduled as needed. A two-year commitment to this committee is requested if selected for participation.

*You will be notified by the school district if you are selected to participate in the Community Finance Committee. Space is limited and the district will make an effort to balance the committee with diverse representation and backgrounds.*

Purpose: The Community Project Team will review the design and programming plans for the Mariemont High School project. The team will offer recommendations, feedback and suggestions to the architects, construction management and school district throughout the project.

Commitment: The Community Project Team will meet once a month with additional meetings scheduled as needed throughout the project. A two-year commitment to this committee is requested if selected for participation.
