You must call the office or submit an email to the student absence email accounts if your child is staying home with an illness to report their absence. Children cannot return to school until they are symptom-free for 24 hours. In particular, complete resolution of vomiting, fever and diarrhea is required (without medication). For general guidelines for keeping your child home from school, please consult the student handbooks.

As the well being of our students is of paramount importance, Mariemont City Schools employs a pair of district health aides to provide health services and education in all four buildings.

The district health aides meet the daily health care needs of all students as well as those with identified medical diagnoses. Health plans are developed and maintained by the health aides including emergency plans for chronic student health problems.

Vision/hearing screening and initiating appropriate referrals to medical providers for eye and ear care for grades K, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and new students are also provided, in accordance with the Ohio Department of Health guidelines. Also, scoliosis screening takes place for all 7th graders each year.

The district health aides conduct a medication class for all support staff administering medications to students and reviews all such medications given during school hours. She maintains all medical folders and monitors immunization compliance.

Parents can find helpful student health information and medical forms by visiting the Medical Forms & Requirements resources to the right.
